82% of Services in Europe-ECSA Trade Dominated by P3 Carriers
Posted Date: 10 Jan 2014
The three carriers of the proposed P3 Alliance are the dominate carriers on all but one of the seven services operating from Europe to the east coast of South America, according to an analysis of capacity as of Jan. 1 by BlueWater Reporting and reported in the fourth quarter World Liner Supply Report released Monday. The six services dominated by the three carriers represent more than 82% of the capacity deployed in the trade. It should be noted that the Europe-East Coast South American trade is not included in the scope of the proposed P3 alliance.
World Liner Supply quarterly reports calculate the up-to-date ship capacity of each alliance, carrier, service and trade route on the 12 trade lanes operating between Asia, Europe, North America and South America. The reports cover all the liner services in a trade and give a timely analytical assessment of total capacity supply from quarter to quarter that reflects changes in services or in the number or size of the ships deployed.
The World Liner Supply reports are pivot tables sent within Excel workbook, showing the capacity and frequency for each service and alliance for the current quarter and previous quarter, as well as the percentage change.
The reports feature a unique analytical summary of service changes and fleet changes by trade, including a highlight of carriers that have adjusted capacity in the latest quarter. The summary shows the services added, withdrawn or restructured.
The reports also provide a detailed list of all ships deployed in a trade.
The World Liner Supply Report is available to licensees of BlueWater Reporting and American Shipper/Global Schedule subscribers by clicking here
