Report: Why Hapag-Lloyd is starting with CSAV
Is Hapag-Lloyd aiming to join the P3?
Hapag-Lloyd’s plan to combine its liner activities with those of CSAV begins an avowed expansion process by binding it more closely than ever to the global networks of the P3 partners Maersk Line, Mediterranean Shipping Co. and CMA CGM.
A new BlueWater Reporting Research team analysis provides grounds to consider that the next most eligible candidates after CSAV may be Hamburg Sud, CCNI or Zim.
Hapag-Lloyd is only the fourth company with a truly global liner network and already has across-the-board service partnerships with a staggering number of other lines.
By combining with Hamburg Sud, for instance, Hapag-Lloyd and CSAV would then enjoy partnership with 40 other lines and better fit to take a fourth place worldwide alongside the other P3 global lines.
