Asia-North America trade picks up in 2017

   Weekly allocated capacity on the trade increased in both directions at the end of Q4 2017 from a year prior, according to BlueWater Reporting’s Capacity Report.
   This chart displays a quarterly snapshot of weekly allocated capacity on the Asia to/from North America trade, according to data from BlueWater Reporting’s Capacity Report.
   At the end of Q4 2017, weekly allocated capacity on the Asia to North America leg stood at 398,411 TEUs, with capacity on the return leg totaling 397,971 TEUs.
   In comparison, at the end of Q4 2016, weekly allocated capacity on the Asia to North America trade stood at 365,029 TEUs, while the return on the North America to Asia trade totaled 367,318 TEUs.
   Over the course of the year, weekly allocated capacity from Asia to North America rose 9 percent, while on the return leg, capacity rose 8 percent.
