CMA CGM sees capacity soar 33% on Africa to Med trade

   The French carrier's estimated weekly allocated capacity on the Africa to Mediterranean trade route surged 33 percent year-over-year in June 2016.
   Utilizing the BlueWater Reporting Carrier/Trade Route Deployment Report, the chart above displays CMA CGM's estimated weekly allocated capacity on the Africa to Mediterranean trade in the June reporting periods of 2015 and 2016.
   According to the data, CMA CGM's estimated weekly allocated capacity on the trade route rose from 5,296 TEUs in June 2015 to 7,041 TEUs in June 2016, a 33 percent year-over-year increase. Meanwhile, average vessel size decreased by three percent, from 2,125 TEUs in June 2015 to 2,055 TEUs in June 2016.
