North Europe-Mediterranean trade flourishes

   BlueWater Reporting’s Capacity Report shows weekly allocated capacity in both directions increased at the close of Q4 2017 from a year prior.
   This chart illustrates weekly allocated capacity between North Europe and the Mediterranean on a quarterly basis, according to data from BlueWater Reporting’s Capacity Report.
    In the past year, weekly allocated capacity in both directions has risen steadily.
   The Mediterranean to North Europe trade has increased weekly allocated capacity by 9 percent during this timeframe, rising from 99,848 TEUs in December 2016 to 109,256 TEUs in December 2017.
   Meanwhile, the North Europe to Mediterranean trade has also increased weekly allocated capacity by 6 percent, going from  90,713 TEUs in December 2016 to 96,078 TEUs in December 2017. The trade peaked at 97,170 TEUs in September 2017.
