North Europe-South America/Carib. capacity tumbles in Q4 2017

   BlueWater Reporting’s Capacity Report shows weekly allocated capacity in both directions sank between Q3 2017 and Q4 2017.
   Utilizing the BlueWater Reporting Capacity Report, the chart above displays the overall capacity on the North Europe-South America/Caribbean trade from the close of the fourth quarter of 2016 through the close of the 2017 fourth quarter. Capacity is measured in weekly allocated TEUs.
   According to the data, weekly allocated capacity saw a sharp decline on both the westbound and eastbound legs in December 2017.
   On the eastbound trade, weekly allocated capacity decreased by 10 percent between Q3 2017 and Q4 2017, from 51,289 TEUs to 46,217 TEUs. Also during that timeframe, weekly allocated capacity on the westbound trade tumbled 12 percent, from 52,340 TEUs to 46,106 TEUs.
