Transatlantic trade’s prosperity could change course

   The transatlantic trade has held up strong for container carriers throughout 2019 as goods trade between North Europe and North America in both directions has been accelerating at a faster pace than vessel capacity, thus helping keep spot container rates generally strong.
   However, brewing trade tensions between the U.S. and the European Union could result in less trade between the two regions.
   BlueWater Reporting’s latest report, “Transatlantic trade’s prosperity could change course,” looks at:
     • The U.S. and Canada’s trade with Europe this year compared to last;
     • Containership capacity trends on the trade, going eastbound and westbound;
     • Carrier and alliance market share on the trade, going eastbound and westbound;
     • And the outlook for the trade.
