Asia-North Europe capacity rises in 2017

   Weekly allocated capacity increased in both directions at the close of Q4 2017 from the corresponding prior year period, according to BlueWater Reporting’s Capacity Report.
   Utilizing BlueWater Reporting's Capacity Report, the chart above displays weekly allocated capacity on the Asia to/from North Europe trade on a quarterly basis between December 2016 and December 2017.
   Over the course of the year, there has been a steady climb in capacity on the Asia-North Europe trade.
   According to the data, weekly allocated capacity on the Asia-North Europe trade has been on the rise since taking a dip in the second quarter of 2017 for both import and export.
   From Asia to North Europe, weekly allocated capacity increased 4 percent year-over-year at the close of Q4 2017 to 228,376 TEUs, while from North Europe to Asia, capacity rose 6 percent to 226,858 TEUs.
