CMA CGM takes the lead in deployed capacity in Intra-Carib trade

Top 10 carriers in the Intra-Carib trade handle 89 percent of the total deployed capacity.
   Utilizing BlueWater Reporting's Carrier/Trade Route Deployment Report, the above chart provides the top 10 carriers by deployed capacity in the intra-regional Caribbean trade. This data reflects deployed capacity from the close of December 2017. 
   According to the chart, CMA CGM and Hapag-Lloyd each deploy over 100,000 TEUs in the Intra-Caribbean trade. CMA CGM leads all carriers with 182,094 TEUs, while Hapag-Lloyd maintains second place with 114,097 TEUs.
   The remaining eight carriers provide a total of 192,671 TEUs, with a range from Maersk Line's 11,962 TEUs to Hamburg-Süd's 68,778 TEUs. Overall, the 21 carriers that deploy capacity in the Intra-Caribbean trade, total 548,497 TEUs. CMA CGM makes up 33 percent of this total, while the top 10 carriers altogether make up 488,862 TEUs or 89 percent of the total deployed capacity in the trade.
