Virginia International Gateway Terminal leads in Norfolk

More than half of the capacity flowing through Norfolk is handled by the Virginia International Gateway terminal.
   Utilizing the BlueWater Reporting Terminal Analysis, the chart above displays the deployed capacity calling each of the terminals at the port of Norfolk, VA. The total deployed capacity calling the port is 1,835,588 TEUs. 
   According to the data, Virginia International Gateway terminal (VIG) sees the greatest capacity at 938,799 TEUs on 11 services. Norfolk International Terminal (NIT) handles the second greatest capacity, with 13 services deploying a total of 631,008 TEUs. 
   Next is Portsmouth Marine Terminal, which is called by six services, deploying 259,976 TEUs. The terminal handling the least capacity is the Newport News Marine Terminal (NNMT) at 5,805 TEUs deployed by just one service.
